129th fair comes to a close

As the barns and midway emptied and the rides came to a halt Monday, so ended the 129th edition of the Shawano County Fair. “After the rocky start and wet weather, things went just fine. Everything fell into place real well,” said Dale Hodkiewicz, president of the Shawano Area Agricultural Society.

Madera fair to open Thursday

The Madera District Fair will open Thursday and run through Sept. 12 with pre-sale admission, carnival coupons, concerts, livestock and exhibits. Discounts for admission and carnival rides are available at Rancho San Miguel Market and the fair office, 1850 W. Cleveland Ave. in Madera.
